Challenge MeI think I need to work on writing stories for people, in part so that I have more material to present as a portfolio, and in part so that I can see if I'm able to take the kernel of some editor's idea and make something out of it.
So give me an assignment. Pretend that you're some editor putting together an anthology of short stories with a theme of....? Pick anything you like, stories about people named George, stories about anthropomorphic bugs, tales about time travel, what have you. Toss in as much or as little detail as you want me to know.
I doubt that anything I write will ever be published. But, in the crazy mixed up messed up chance that I'm not wrong about my abilities, and I do get published, and it happens to be one of these stories, one that you lovely people set into motion, I will remember to make note of it, and thank you profusely. And either way, you can think of the story as a present, from me to you. I hope you'll like it.....
